In an effort to increase sunscreen use and decrease incidence of sunburns, which can lead to skin cancer (the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the United States), the Iowa Cancer Consortium is handing out roughly 50 gallons of SPF30 sunscreen in 2023 to numerous programs this summer throughout Iowa. Bricker-Price Block is honored to have been selected as one of the 2023 Sun-Safety Community Projects and will receive FREE SUNSCREEN for our 2023 summer camps."
It's never too early to educate children on the importance of sunscreen! We feel so fortunate to be selected as one of the 2023 Sun-Safety Community Projects, and to be able to educate our youth and entire community on the importance of sun-safety," said Allissa Johnson,
Bricker-Price Block Executive Director. This summer, Kids Club Summer Campers can look forward to hearing all about Ray and the Sunbeatables®! The evidence-based curriculum educates children about sun protection and promotes sun-safety behaviors. We will be playing games, doing activities and handing out prizes throughout our day camps all summer long.
This program is made possible by the Iowa Cancer Consortium and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
